I spent a couple months in Perth this year and met a lot of great people there. The music scene right now in Perth is steadily growing and The Panda Band is at the forefront of it. The band had a radio hit with “Sleepy Little Deathtoll Town” and their recent album This Vital Chapter is destined to be a classic.
The song that really is catching my attention right now is the soul-searching tune “Eyelashes.” It’s a very dense layered instrumentally and it features some pretty impressive tempo changes, but also is endlessly catchy. “Musical Chairs” is a fantastic power-pop song and it holds it own against many of the Canadian bands that are dominating that scene currently.
